The Amateur

I typed, while Gunderson suggested ideas.

We searched on the computer for likely matches to all of the data we had on the targets so far. We found lots of phone numbers in our area code that started with 666, but we discounted those, since it was possible there were 10,000 of them.

We searched for 666, followed by the zip code 11704. We found Our Lady of Grace several times, and lots of phone numbers with 666 in that area code. We found a countertop company at 666 Sunrise Highway, but had no luck finding employee addresses, or connections with churches or alcoholism treatment centers. We found an imaging company on 666 Shore Road, but that was in Long Beach, in a different zip code. We kept it on our list though; it wasn't too far away.

For zip code 11706 we found Calvary Baptist Church with a 666 in the phone number. We kept that on our list. Likewise with Hospice Care Network.

In 11717 we found Expressway Diner on 666 Motor Parkway. We found a moving company at 666 Muncy St in Lindenhurst, different zip, but we added it to the list.

Things were going slowly until we found a database of church volunteers that let us search by arbitrary keywords. We typed in 666 and the zip codes. We weeded out the phone numbers that had 666 in them.

One name stood out. Mary Lindstrom, 666 Montgomery Avenue, in Bay Shore. She "facilitated" AA meetings.

In a church.
